Flatiron Health integrates Natera’s oncology tests into OncoEMR to streamline molecular testing and monitoring in routine care

Natera’s oncology testing portfolio, including Signatera™, is now integrated into Flatiron Health’s OncoEMR platform, enabling electronic ordering and results delivery for more than 4500 US cancer care providers. 

Flatiron Health and Natera have introduced a two-way integration that embeds Natera’s oncology testing portfolio directly into OncoEMR, a cloud-based electronic medical record (EMR) platform widely used across US community oncology practices. The integration is intended to provide a consistent digital process for ordering tests and receiving results within a single system.  

Natera is a precision medicine company specializing in cell-free DNA testing, while Flatiron Health, an independent affiliate of the Roche Group, develops oncology technology and data platforms, including OncoEMR. 

Through the new functionality, clinicians can submit electronic orders for Natera’s assays and receive completed results directly in the OncoEMR interface. According to Flatiron, this unified approach is now available across its network of more than 4500 providers at over 1000 community-based cancer care locations.  

This update strengthens Flatiron’s broader focus on expanding access to molecular residual disease (MRD) testing, including assessment, treatment-response evaluation, and early recurrence monitoring. It follows a series of recent collaborations in the MRD space, such as partnerships with Exact Sciences and Adaptive Biotechnologies, which reflect the growing interest in using high-quality real-world data (RWD) to evaluate emerging MRD technologies and support more personalized cancer management. By integrating Natera’s portfolio directly into practice workflows, Flatiron continues to position MRD testing as a routine element of community oncology care. 

Quincy Weatherspoon, Vice President and General Manager of point-of-care solutions at Flatiron, said the intention is to offer tools that align with existing practice workflows.

Natera indicated that simplifying operational processes was a central objective. Minetta Liu, MD, Chief Medical Officer of oncology at Natera, commented that:
