Looking ahead to the World EPA Congress 2025

The World Evidence, Pricing and Access (EPA) Congress, Europe's largest gathering focused on market access, pricing, and evidence in healthcare, is set to take place on March 5–6, 2025, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This event will bring together over 1500 attendees from the pharmaceutical, biotech, and payer/HTA sectors, featuring 300 speakers across 9 themed tracks.

Conference agenda and speakers

The World EPA Congress 2025 will continue its established 2-day format, structured around specialized tracks that address critical areas in the healthcare landscape. Building on the success of previous years, the congress will continue to offer in-depth coverage of essential topics such as real-world evidence and data analytics, market access strategies, rare disease management, and health technology assessment methodologies. New tracks for 2025 include:

• Pre-Launch Success: This track will examine innovative frameworks and incentives that drive successful product development, with a particular focus on overcoming challenges in bringing novel therapies to market. Attendees can learn about topics including, “Optimising long term launch commercial success with indication sequencing”, and, “Subnational reimbursement strategies for successful launches.”
• Reimbursement: Expanding beyond traditional reimbursement mechanisms, this track will explore cutting-edge strategies to enhance access to innovative treatments, with a special emphasis on improving equity in healthcare delivery. Sessions include a panel discussion on the UK subscription model for antimicrobials and a presentation on, “Innovative reimbursement schemes: uncertainties and performance indicators.”

The congress will feature prominent industry leaders, with Annette Powers (SVP, Global Market Access, Bristol Myers Squibb) chairing Day 1, and Charles Makin (Head of RWE, Boehringer Ingelheim) chairing Day 2. Keynote presentations include:

• Jayasree Iyer (Chief Executive Officer, Access to Medicine Foundation), who will be discussing the newly published Access to Medicine Index report in the Day 1 keynote, “Trends and opportunities in achieving health equity from the Access to Medicine Index.”
• Claus Runge (Chief Health Equity Officer, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Public Affairs, Sustainability & Int. Engagement, Bayer) will examine, “Pathways to overcoming access barriers in LMICs,” on Day 2 of the congress.
