King’s College Hospital joins Briya health data network for real-world evidence research

The UK’s King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has joined Briya’s international health data network, adding NHS data to support real-world evidence generation through the company’s AIRE research platform.

Briya has announced a collaboration with King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust that will make data from the UK teaching trust available through its international health data network. The collaboration is intended to support real-world evidence (RWE) research into areas including disease, treatment pathways, and patient outcomes.

King’s College Hospital provides specialist services to patients across inner-city and suburban communities. Briya has said that the addition of data from these populations will broaden the range of real-world data (RWD) represented within its network for life sciences and healthcare research.

The Trust joins academic medical centers and research institutions already working with Briya’s RWD infrastructure. According to Briya, data from King’s College Hospital will be made available through AIRE, its AI-based research platform, in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements.

King’s College Hospital joins other European institutions working with Briya, including Charité in Germany and Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza in Italy.

The announcement follows the opening of Briya AIRE to institutions internationally through the company’s Academic Access Program. Briya has also worked with InterSystems to connect its technology to a health data network spanning more than 1 billion patient records, according to the company.
