Conference theme and program
The Evidence Base is making final preparations for ISPOR Europe 2025, the leading conference for health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), organized by ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research. Marking the society’s 30th anniversary, this year’s meeting will once again bring together patients, payers, providers, regulators, and industry leaders to discuss the latest developments shaping healthcare access and decision-making across Europe.
This year’s theme, “Powering Value and Access Through Patient-Centered Collaboration,” underpins three days of discussion focused on how patient perspectives, real-world evidence (RWE), and cross-sector partnerships can help deliver more equitable and sustainable healthcare. As Rob Abbott reminds us in his recent interview with us, “we’re human, and everything we’re working towards is about improving the patient experience” – a sentiment that reflects the conference’s focus on collaboration and compassion in evidence generation and decision-making.
The program is being shaped under the guidance of three co-chairs whose expertise spans patient advocacy, clinical research, and healthcare investment:
- Maria Dutarte (EUPATI, The Netherlands)
- Denise Lacombe (EORTC, Belgium)
- Joep Muijrers (Gilde Healthcare Partners, The Netherlands)
Ahead of the meeting, read our “Conversations We’re Expecting to Hear at ISPOR Europe 2025” series, which explores the sessions looking to address some of the most pressing questions shaping this year’s agenda:
- Can patient-centered collaboration move from aspiration to action in evidence generation and decision-making?
- Will the EU HTA Regulation deliver harmonization or create new complexity?
- Is AI redefining evidence generation or just speeding up what we already do?
- Are we ready for true harmonization across payers, regulators, and patients?
- How can real-world evidence move from validation to implementation?
- How can health economics take a whole health perspective?
Exploring Glasgow: what to know before you go
This year’s ISPOR Europe conference will take place at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), a modern riverside venue just minutes from Glasgow city centre. As Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow is known for its friendly character, Victorian architecture, and thriving cultural scene.
For real insights into Glasgow, we recommend checking out this excellent guide from Martin Anderson, Founding Director, Carrot Recruitment. As a proud Glaswegian, Martin offers practical tips and local recommendations to help attendees make the most of their time in the city.
And, of course, the weather is always a talking point. November in Glasgow is typically cool and damp, and next week looks true to form, with light rain expected and temperatures around 10–12°C. Be sure to pack a warm coat and umbrella! For anyone who’d prefer not to carry their coat during the conference, a cloakroom is available in Hall 5 of the SEC.
Our partner content
The Evidence Base is delighted to be working with several partners to bring selected coverage of their sessions and posters. If you are at the ISPOR Europe 2025, be sure to explore their research and sessions and stop by their booths.
On Monday November 10 (13:45 – 14:45, Hall 3), Mona Khalid and Miguel Hernán will take part in the Issue Panel “The Evidence Was There. So Why Didn’t It Matter?” Ahead of the session, The Evidence Base caught up with Radek Wasiak, Co-Founder and Director of Adigens Health, to learn more about the company’s plans for the conference. In this Exhibit Hall Session “The real-world mosaic: uniting data to illuminate the patient experience”, Bruce Feinberg and Nicholas Lazarou of Cardinal Health will present a 14-year, multi-site case study showcasing how the SoNaR research platform integrates diverse data to improve long-term survival analysis in real-world settings. The session will highlight how connected datasets can bridge gaps between clinical trials and RWE by enhancing data quality and completeness. The sessions takes place Tuesday November 11, 2025 at 11:45am – 12:15pm (Theater 2, located in the Exhibit Hall in Hall 4).
The team from Cencora, an ISPOR Mission Partner, will be participating in several sessions throughout ISPOR Europe 2025, with full details available here. The session takes place at 12:15 pm on Tuesday, November 11 (Theater 1).
