NCCN and Flatiron Health extend real-world oncology data collaboration through 2028

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network and Flatiron Health have renewed their collaboration through 2028, continuing access to real-world oncology data, research funding, and educational resources across participating National Comprehensive Cancer Network Member Institutions.

Flatiron Health has announced the renewal of its collaboration with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a not-for-profit alliance of academic cancer centers in the US. The move continues their ongoing relationship, first established in 2014, to support real-world evidence (RWE) research and generation in oncology. Under the latest agreement, Flatiron will introduce its AI-powered oncology data platform, Flatiron Telescope, across the NCCN member network for the first time.

The platform allows researchers to explore Flatiron data, assess research feasibility and generate patient cohorts, including by stratifying datasets according to biomarkers, lines of therapy and treatment history. According to Flatiron, Telescope is designed to allow a broader range of investigators to conduct these activities without requiring extensive technical expertise.

Speaking exclusively to The Evidence Base, Quincy Weatherspoon, Chief Network Officer, Flatiron Health explained:

NCCN Member Institutions included in the agreement will continue to receive curated, de-identified oncology datasets covering more than 6 million patients, alongside analytic support from Flatiron and educational programming on the use of real-world data.

Research funding will also continue through the Flatiron Grants program, with up to seven grants available twice a year to eligible subscribers. Research conducted using these resources may examine areas including patterns of care, predictive biomarkers, healthcare disparities, and comparative effectiveness.
