Leveraging Helix's genomic data and Komodo Health's AI-driven RWD platform, the collaboration aims to advance precision medicine through deeper insights into patient outcomes and treatment development.

Helix and Komodo Health have announced a partnership designed to enhance the value and applicability of clinico-genomic datasets for research and life sciences. The collaboration brings together Helix’s extensive genomic data from its Helix Research Network (HRN) and Komodo Health’s Healthcare Map®, a leading platform for de-identified, longitudinal patient insights.

Helix’s HRN is the largest hereditary clinico-genomic database in North America and is on track to become the largest globally by the end of 2025. The HRN currently includes a growing registry of 500,000 whole-exome profiles, with a goal to surpass 1.5 million participants. All HRN participants provide consent for their de-identified clinico-genomic data to be used in research, ensuring both privacy and the generation of actionable insights. By integrating Komodo’s data, which spans medical, pharmacy, and mortality records, the partnership aims to expand HRN’s utility for researchers and life sciences organizations.

Komodo Health’s AI-driven platform offers detailed views of patient journeys and outcomes, enhancing the ability to derive actionable insights. "Augmenting Helix data with Komodo's Healthcare Map will enable partner researchers to explore additional insights into medication usage, treatment adherence, and total cost of care across large populations in a wide array of conditions," said James Lu, CEO and co-founder of Helix. "Our partnership with Komodo demonstrates Helix's commitment to increasing the depth of our datasets and supporting all stages of the drug development lifecycle."

Web Sun, President and co-founder of Komodo Health, stated:

"Helix shares Komodo's vision of accelerating research through multi-modal data, making them an ideal choice as our first germline dataset partner. As the industry continues to evolve towards a precision medicine model, Helix's clinico-genomic data in combination with our Healthcare Map in our MapLab® platform will help unlock critical insights into the nuances of the patient journey, power drug discovery and development across therapeutic areas, and get personalized therapy options to more patients."

The partnership aims to enable life science researchers to better understand patient responses to treatment, build targeted patient profiles, and inform therapeutic development across a range of conditions. Additionally, the integration of data from Komodo’s Healthcare Map® will provide new insights into medication usage, treatment adherence, and healthcare costs. The platform will also support regular electronic health record (EHR) updates for study cohorts and allow recontacting participants for future research studies.
