BC Platforms expands global access to real-world and genomic data through GeneVault partnership

The agreement expands BC Platforms’ data partner network to include large-scale datasets from under-represented populations across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, supporting more globally representative evidence generation.
BC Platforms has announced a partnership with GeneVault Lifesciences™ to expand access to real-world data (RWD) and genomic information from regions historically under-represented in biomedical research. The collaboration adds 48 million patient lives to BC Platforms’ global patient catchment, spanning multi-modal datasets from more than 13 countries, with further geographic expansion planned as GeneVault adds new data custodians.
The partnership is intended to provide life sciences organizations with access to larger and more diverse patient cohorts in regions where data availability has traditionally been limited. GeneVault’s network includes more than 115 medical facilities and over 120 hospitals and medical centers contributing clinical data and biospecimens to biobanks across its covered geographies. These resources are expected to support research and development activities requiring broader population representation, including early discovery, feasibility assessments, and later-stage evidence generation.
GeneVault’s datasets will be integrated into BC Platforms’ data mastering platform, BC Unify, which harmonizes structured and unstructured multi-modal data and provisions them through trusted research environments, either in the cloud or via a federated model. The companies say this will support analytics across the drug lifecycle, from early discovery and clinical development to real-world performance and post-market evidence generation, while maintaining data governance and security.
Following the addition of GeneVault, BC Platforms’ global data partner network now provides access to more than 175 million patients across over 35 countries. The combined datasets span multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, immunology, neurology, cardiology, and rare diseases.
Commenting on the collaboration, Mukhtar Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of BC Platforms, said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with GeneVault to harness data from under-represented regions, thereby strengthening the scientific foundation that our customers rely on for unique healthcare research insights across drug discovery, development and post-launch evidence-generation, as well as the interventional effectiveness of precision medicine.”
Recent research initiatives have highlighted the scientific importance of the populations covered by the partnership. Large-scale studies in Latin America have identified high levels of genetic heterogeneity and complex ancestry, yet these populations remain under-represented in many genomic reference datasets. Similarly, population-specific genome programs in the Middle East have shown that commonly used reference genomes may fail to capture clinically relevant variants, with implications for the generalizability of precision medicine approaches.
Dr Vinod Gauba, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of GeneVault Lifesciences, stated:
“This partnership marks a pivotal step toward correcting one of the most significant blind spots in global precision medicine. By connecting ethically sourced real-world and genomic datasets from under-represented populations with BC Platforms’ global analytics and technology, we are enabling discovery that finally reflects the true diversity of human health.”
