Emory Healthcare has announced a partnership with Atropos Health to use real-world evidence (RWE) and AI-driven analytics to enhance medication decision-making, optimize drug protocols, and improve patient care.

Atropos Health, a leader in transforming clinical data into RWE, has partnered with Emory Healthcare to enhance patient care through data-driven medication strategies. Using Atropos Health’s advanced analytics platform, Emory aims to generate rapid, actionable insights from real-world data (RWD) to support clinical decision-making.

A key component of this initiative is the Atropos Evidence™ Network, which includes over 300 million patient records. This platform enables clinicians to run studies using both national datasets and institution-specific data providing insights that were previously unavailable from traditional published literature. By leveraging these resources, clinicians can make more informed decisions, refining drug protocols and formulary design to improve patient outcomes and optimize costs.

According to Alistair Erskine (Enterprise Chief Information and Digital Officer for Emory Healthcare and Emory University), this platform will help answer clinical questions that may not be adequately addressed in published literature by surfacing “practice-based evidence where evidence-based medicine does not exist.” He stated that:

“We are already seeing early success as one of our users explored real-world outcomes, adverse events, and costs of a drug that will improve our drug therapy protocol and benefit Emory patients.”

The collaboration incorporates Atropos Health’s Green Button™ technology, which enables seamless access to RWE. Clinicians can generate results using either a supervised evidence development process or a fully automated, generative AI-driven version (ChatRWD®), producing observation study findings within minutes.

This initiative is part of Emory Healthcare’s broader strategy to integrate advanced technology into clinical decision-making. By using Atropos Health’s federated platform, GENEVA OS™, Emory can securely generate real-world insights within its internal cloud environment. GENEVA OS customers also gain access to Alexandria™, a repository of tens of thousands of existing studies that can be adapted and rerun using local datasets to provide new, institution-specific evidence.

"Achieving the quadruple aim in healthcare requires closing the evidence gap,” said Dr Brigham Hyde, CEO and co-founder of Atropos Health. "Emory’s commitment to adopting technology to reduce friction for physicians and make care protocol and formulary designs based on evidence puts them ahead."
