VIDEO: Most-favored nation pricing: Updates and strategic insights from Tim Wright, Genesis Research Group

  • The Evidence Base

Most-favored nation (MFN) pricing proposes linking US drug prices to those paid in selected international reference markets, creating significant uncertainty for manufacturers as policymakers consider multiple implementation pathways. At ISPOR Europe 2025, Tim Wright (Executive Vice President, Access & Pricing, Genesis Research Group) assessed MFN’s legal and structural constraints and outlined practical steps manufacturers can take to prepare under uncertainty, offering timely guidance for pricing, market access and HEOR professionals.

In this follow-up, Wright reflects on the latest developments in the MFN debate, its interaction with the recently announced second round of Medicare drug price negotiations under the Inflation Reduction Act and what manufacturers can expect in the months ahead.
