The long-term partnership will generate regulatory-grade real-world data (RWD) to support precision medicine, accelerate access to innovative therapies, and strengthen a UK-wide research infrastructure.

As part of this multi-year collaboration, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust – one of Europe’s largest acute hospital trusts – will join the Arcturis RWD Network. Delivering care to approximately 1.6 million patients each year across seven regional hospitals, the Trust will contribute clinical expertise across multiple therapeutic areas to help enhance the diversity and representativeness of the health data available. The network provides real-time access to enriched datasets that reflect the UK population, supporting research and development throughout the drug development lifecycle.

The Trust contributes clinical expertise across a broad range of therapeutic areas, such as cardiology, neurology, and oncology. The collaboration aims to generate regulatory-grade, disease-specific datasets designed for use throughout the drug development lifecycle, including early-phase trials, regulatory submissions, and post-authorization safety studies. These datasets will include both structured and unstructured data, such as medication records, laboratory results, clinical notes, and pathology reports.

We are delighted to have partnered with Leeds Teaching Hospitals, a leading acute hospital trust with an outstanding reputation for clinical care, research and innovation across a range of therapeutic areas including oncology,” said Alex Snow, Chief Executive Officer at Arcturis. “We look forward to working with the team at Leeds to generate precision, regulatory-grade data insights that can be used to enhance the adoption of innovative new therapies and provide better outcomes for patients.”

The Arcturis RWD Network, approved by the NHS ethics body, the Health Research Authority, is built to ensure that all insights are based on anonymized patient data, adhering to the highest ethical and governance standards. The partnership is expected to enhance the depth and diversity of RWD available to researchers and developers working on novel therapies in the UK.

Paul Jones, Chief Digital Information Officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, commented,

We are excited to partner with Arcturis in this innovative endeavour. By combining our clinical expertise with Arcturis’ data science and analytic capabilities, this partnership has the opportunity to accelerate the development of new therapies and improve patient outcomes.”

Snow added that the inclusion of Leeds Teaching Hospitals further strengthens the network’s geographic reach and population representation:

Entering this strategic agreement represents a major milestone in the growth and development of our RWD Network. The catchment size and geographical location of Leeds Teaching Hospitals reinforces Arcturis’ position as the leading curator of precision health data representative of the UK population which through our ethically approved research database can be deployed across the drug development pathway.”
