Century Health and Memory Treatment Centers have announced a partnership to convert unstructured clinical data into research-grade real-world evidence (RWE) to support the analysis of Alzheimer’s disease treatments in everyday practice.

As new Alzheimer’s disease treatments enter clinical use, there is an increasing need to understand how they perform in routine settings. More than 7 million people in the US live with this condition, and prevalence is expected to increase in the coming decades. Generating RWE is therefore essential to assess treatment patterns, patient outcomes, and disease progression outside of clinical trials.

Century Health and Memory Treatment Centers have formed a partnership to process unstructured clinical information and create standardized datasets that can be used for research and analysis. Memory Treatment Centers deliver diagnostic, monitoring and treatment services for individuals with memory loss and dementia and has compiled a dataset containing cognitive assessments, biomarker measurements, genetic information, and imaging. The organization was the first in the US to administer the FDA-approved therapies donanemab and lecanemab, both of which target amyloid plaques and are intended to slow early Alzheimer’s progression.

Century Health will apply its Century Health Abstraction and Retrieval Model (CHARM) to process this information. The AI model extracts and standardizes variables such as cognitive scores, treatment response, Apolipoprotein E (APOE) status and imaging findings, including amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA). The extraction process focuses on creating research-ready, de-identified information from existing clinical notes and imaging rather than generating new data.

All analyses will rely on de-identified data and comply with HIPAA requirements. The resulting structured datasets may be used by clinicians, researchers, and pharmaceutical partners to examine treatment patterns, safety observations, and patient characteristics across diverse groups. This evidence may support post-market studies, longitudinal monitoring, and further investigation into disease progression.

Dr Bobby Mannel, Neurologist and Co-Founder of Memory Treatment Centers, stated:

"By collaborating with Century Health, we can analyze how new treatments perform in real-world settings and learn how to optimize care for every patient we serve."

Vish Srivastava, Co-Founder & CEO at Century Health, added:

Practices serving the most affected populations often hold uniquely powerful data to inform clinical and translational research. By partnering with one of the largest and most advanced Alzheimer's and dementia practices in the country, we can help translate everyday care data into insights that directly shape future treatments.”
