Segmed will make de-identified, diagnostic-grade imaging and associated clinical datasets available within Verily’s AI-native precision health platform to enable multimodal research in breast cancer and other disease areas.

Segmed, a provider of real-world medical imaging and multimodal data for research and AI development, has announced a strategic partnership with Verily, a precision health AI company. Under the agreement, Segmed’s curated imaging datasets will be made available within Verily’s secure Pre Exchange and Workbench environment, a self-serve platform designed to support data exploration and analysis in controlled research settings.

The collaboration is intended to provide investigators in academia, life sciences, and healthcare AI with access to diagnostic-grade imaging data within a privacy-focused framework. By embedding de-identified datasets directly into Verily’s platform, the companies aim to facilitate multimodal research approaches that combine imaging with clinical and other biomedical data types.

The first dataset to be made available through Pre Exchange will focus on breast cancer. It comprises a longitudinal cohort of patients who have undergone at least one digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) examination and have biopsy-confirmed malignant lesions. The dataset is drawn from Segmed’s broader global imaging platform, which includes approximately 150 million de-identified imaging examinations across modalities including CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, PET, SPECT, echocardiography, and DEXA.

David Gascoigne, Chief Executive Officer of Segmed, highlighted the relevance of imaging data in precision medicine, stating:

"Advanced imaging data plays a critical role in precision medicine, particularly when combined with clinical and other biomedical data modalities. By partnering with Verily, we're expanding responsible access to high-quality, de-identified imaging datasets, helping researchers generate insights faster to accelerate the development of diagnostics and therapies."

From Verily’s perspective, the integration of curated imaging datasets is expected to strengthen the multimodal resources available within its research platform. Bharat Rajagopal, Chief Revenue Officer at Verily, described the partnership as “an important step forward in advancing AI powered precision health.” He further explained:

"By integrating Segmed's curated real-world imaging and associated clinical data into Pre, we are empowering researchers with the comprehensive, multimodal data resources they need to unlock new insights and accelerate discovery."

The partnership forms part of Segmed’s broader efforts to support secure and scalable access to real-world imaging data and associated clinical information within established research environments. By making these datasets available through Verily’s platform, the companies aim to facilitate data-driven research within a structured, compliant framework.
