Atropos Health expands Alexandria evidence library to support real-world evidence generation and clinical workflows

The growing Alexandria® evidence library introduces millions of new precision real-world evidence (RWE) findings and expanded technology partnerships aimed at strengthening clinical decision-making and AI-enabled healthcare systems.
Atropos Health has announced a major expansion of Alexandria®, its evidence library designed to support RWE generation and clinical decision-making. The company described Alexandria as the largest source of novel medical content generated through standardized observational evidence workflows. It currently includes more than 33 million precision Evidence-Based Findings (pEBF™), with plans to expand to more than two billion studies by the end of 2026.
The Alexandria library is generated through a high-throughput observational workflow that applies standardized methods to linked electronic health record (EHR) and administrative claims data. This process produces narrative, research-style summaries referred to as precision real-world evidence (pRWE™), which undergo structured clinical and statistical quality control prior to dissemination. The underlying methodology has been described in a previously released preprint outlining how large-scale observational evidence can be produced consistently using standardized analytical approaches.
According to Atropos Health, the continued development of Alexandria is intended to help address persistent gaps in available medical evidence, particularly when clinicians encounter questions that are not fully addressed by traditional studies or published literature. The library is designed to support clinicians, researchers, and life science organizations across the healthcare ecosystem. As it expands, the company expects Alexandria to exceed the scale of publicly available medical literature, potentially by as much as 100-fold in volume, supporting efforts to generate “precise answers to complex medical questions quickly and improve patient and medical outcomes based on content not available anywhere else.”
The company reported performance data indicating measurable improvements in evidence-supported responses. In a benchmark involving more than 5000 clinician-generated questions, the inclusion of precision RWE summaries more than doubled the proportion of questions answered with supporting evidence. Atropos Health also reported that its integrated AI-based evidence generation capabilities produced evidence-based responses at rates two- to three-times higher than several large language model comparators, including ChatGPT 5.4 and Claude 4.6.
To support reliability and transparency, the company described a multi-layered review framework applied to all generated evidence. Each evidence artefact undergoes multiple stages of quality assessment, including automated methodological review and AI-supported peer review. Users may also request clinician-in-the-loop review, as well as independent external peer review through the Journal of Comparative Effectiveness Research, partner journal to The Evidence Base. Where studies meet publication standards, findings may be developed into formal manuscripts to support wider dissemination and further research.
The Alexandria library is also being integrated into an expanding network of healthcare technology platforms to support use in clinical environments. Newly announced First Edition partners include Meta, Heidi Health, Vim, Avo, Autonomize AI, Vye Health, and Humata, joining existing collaborations with Microsoft and Arcadia. These integrations are intended to deliver RWE directly within clinical workflows, allowing clinicians to access relevant evidence without switching between systems. According to Atropos Health, this approach is expected to extend access to hundreds of thousands of physicians and thousands of health systems worldwide, with current deployments already embedded in workflows used by approximately one-third of physicians in the US and roughly half of major US health systems.
The organization indicated that embedding RWE into routine workflows may help address evidence gaps affecting patient populations that are often underrepresented in traditional clinical trials and other conventional studies. By enabling clinicians to access additional data sources during care delivery, the system is intended to support more informed decision-making across diverse patient groups.
Reflecting on the broader significance of the announcement, Dr Brigham Hyde, CEO and Co-Founder of Atropos Health, stated:
